This introductory program teaches young women entering 6th and 7th Grade the fundamentals of the "Sisterhood of Mercy" while engaging in cooperative learning and leadership activities.

     • Athletic series fostering team-building through movement and competition

Our goal is for students to leave Junior Summer Academy with self-confidence in and outside of the classroom, and an understanding of self in order to best serve yourself, family and community.

Merion Mercy Summer Academy is an exciting academic enrichment and leadership experience designed exclusively for girls entering 8th Grade to help them shift from an elementary school environment to a single-sex, college preparatory high school.

The Summer Academy offers daily classes focused on honing academic and social development, including: 

     • Pre-Algebra and Language Arts skills emphasizing writing, grammar, and literature

     • Strengthening organizational skills, time management, public speaking, and test-taking strategies

     • Math and verbal skills to prepare for the High School Placement Test. A preparation book is included
        in the price

    • Rotating fitness series that includes volleyball, basketball, pickleball, soccer, and much more

     • Special events like field days, ice cream parties, crazy hair day, and talent shows, just to name a few!

Students will leave Summer Academy prepared to conquer 8th grade with confidence in their abilities, friendships and a sense of self!

*Extended day opportunities are available through our Afternoon Workshops program (See below). Transportation is also available for students participating in the "Learn to Row" Crew Camp.

This course is designed to prepare students entering 8th Grade for the various high school scholarship and entrance exams. Emphasis is placed on strengthening the verbal and math skills necessary to perform well on this type of aptitude test. A High School Placement Test preparation book is included in the price of the class.

Merion Mercy Academy proudly offers a wide range of summer courses for rising 9th Graders to review course works, explore new topics, and even earn course credits for next school year.

Ready to ignite new passions? Join us in the afternoon for three full weeks as Merion Mercy faculty lead hands-on, rotating workshops across the Arts, Sciences, and Communications. Sign up for a week or multiple weeks and extend the fun at Merion!

Ages: Entering Grades 6th to 9th

Join Merion Mercy’s coach for this soccer clinic, which will focus on the fundamentals of the game such as basic one vs. one skills, small-sided possession skills, attacking and defensive concepts, and rules of the game. Students may enroll regardless of experience. Incoming 9th graders will benefit from this camp before preseason tryouts in August. Each player should bring shin guards, a water bottle, cleats, and sneakers.

Ages: Entering Grades 7th to 9th
Tuition: $175

This clinic focuses on the fundamentals of the game such as basic stick work, field positions, and rules of the game. Students may enroll regardless of experience. Incoming 9th graders will benefit from this camp before preseason try outs in August. Each player should bring her own stick, mouth guard, shin guards, a water bottle, cleats, and sneakers.

Join Merion Mercy’s basketball coach for this clinic, which will focus on skill development (dribbling, shooting, and passing) and physical training. Daily games and a skills competition on the last day will round out the week. Join us in our air-conditioned gym for a week of learning and fun.

Led by Merion Mercy’s varsity volleyball coach, this clinic will help you to learn the basics of competitive volleyball. This camp is designed for younger and new players looking for exposure to the fundamentals of the sport. Please bring a water bottle, knee pads, and sneakers.

Led by Merion Mercy’s varsity volleyball coach, this clinic is designed for competitive volleyball players who are looking to sharpen their skills prior to the start of CYO or high school season. Incoming 9th graders will benefit from this camp before preseason tryouts in August. Please bring a water bottle, knee pads, and sneakers.

Ages: Entering Grades 6th to 9th
Tuition: $175

Led by Merion Mercy’s varsity lacrosse coach, players will be exposed to drills that build fundamental skill, enhance individual play, and encourage basic team concepts. Players will carry out a variety of both small and large scale drills in a fun, instructive, and competitive atmosphere. All positions and skill levels are welcome. Equipment needed: Field Players – girls stick, goggles, mouthguard, cleats, water bottle. Goalies - goalie stick, helmet, chest protector, shin guards, gloves, thigh pads, mouthguard, cleats, water bottle.
