Student Life
Vibrant Student Life
Student life at Merion Mercy involves much more than academics! Our commitment to character-development, community-building, and growth in mind, body, and soul ensures plenty of experiential learning opportunities for your daughter outside the classroom.
Events that Create Lasting Memories
From Mercy Day to Weenie Roast, Mixers, Hops and Prom, our calendar is full of opportunities to socialize, express yourself, and share special moments with family and friends. We also partner with other schools for many events, with students from St. Joe's Prep, Malvern Prep, Devon Prep and LaSalle College High School (to name just a few).
Whether we’re singing together on Carol Night or busting a move at our annual Father/Daughter Dinner Dance, we believe it’s moments like these that keep us all energized, excited and feeling like part of one big family.
More Clubs and Activities than other Schools
With more than 60 extracurricular activities to choose from, your student is bound to find something (or several things!) to pique her interest.
In addition to our many sports teams, she may become involved in our spiritual programs, clubs, service activities, and leadership opportunities. We believe that it’s through extracurricular activities, liturgies, field trips, holiday celebrations, traditions, and assemblies, that talents are discovered, friendships are made, and holistic education is achieved.
Our Community Commitment
Developed through contributions from each class, Merion Mercy's Community Commitment serves as a guiding promise for how students will interact and build their community. Reflecting the many dimensions of "living mercy," the pledge reads:
I pledge to create a space where all are welcomed and treated with respect.
Leading with kindness, I’ll embrace growth and learn from my missteps.
Honest words and sisterhood will guide my support for all.
I’ll celebrate diversity, ensuring every voice is heard.
Conflicts will be met with grace, seeking understanding and solutions.
With Mercy’s values, I’ll act with integrity, compassion, and unity.
This collective promise reminds us that living Mercy is not a passive endeavor but an active, daily commitment.
Realizing Her Leadership Potential
We lay the groundwork for ambitious young women to step into their greatest potential, providing them with endless opportunities to assume leadership positions and build confidence in just about every activity. Our girls are active in nine National Honor societies, and many Student Council initiative programs that better our school and contribute to improved student life at every grade level.
When she can do anything, that changes everything!
Kindness in Action
We believe there's an undeniable power in kindness and living the core values of Mercy every day. At Merion Mercy, students are guided to understand that service isn’t just about doing a good deed; it’s about living a values-centered life. Our girls put mercy in action every day, within the school, local and global communities, from Campus Ministry to Mercy Mission Corps. Our graduates do more than make their mark in the world—they change it for the better.
"This is a place where you will be welcomed, loved, noticed and valued for who you are and what you contribute to our school as a whole."
