One of our Core Values at Merion Mercy is Spiritual Growth and Development. We guide students every day on their spiritual journey and encourage them to enhance their faith through involvement on the Ministry Team, school liturgies and prayer services, retreats, and other religious experiences.
“We may perceive from all our instructions that a strong and lively faith
is the solid foundation of all virtue.”
– Foundress Catherine McAuley
As a Catholic community rooted in Gospel values, Campus Ministry is an integral part of our school. The office organizes many liturgies, services, and religious events throughout the year, so that students, faculty, staff, and school families can share faithful experiences and traditions together. Sister Anna and Sister Beth welcome our girls to participate on the Ministry Team and encourage student leadership within our prayerful Mercy community.

The Ministry Team is sponsored by Campus Ministry. Students can help plan liturgies and lead prayer services through planning and participation in Mercy Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Mass, Pro Life and Advent Prayer Services, first Friday liturgies, and many other faithful events.
During Junior and Senior Year, our students go on the Kairos retreat; a spiritual awakening that offer faithful reflection and introspection. The Kairos experience provides yet another opportunity to ignite faith and inspire positive change and thoughtful growth for the student.
Often throughout the year, students, faculty and staff participate in Catholic worship by celebrating Mass together. Many liturgies and prayer services are held in the beautiful Convent Chapel adjacent to the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse. Liturgies at Merion are true celebrations! Vibrant and spirited, they are usually accompanied by our liturgical (singers) ensemble, and often include liturgical dance, performed by the dance troupe. Mercy Day Mass, Thanksgiving liturgy, Ash Wednesday, Christmas, Women for Life and Love (Respect Life) prayer service, and other religious events are held in the Convent Chapel.
Our school chapel is opened to students every day. They can reflect, meditate, and pray in this spiritual environment. We hold First Friday services, certain theology classes, and other faith-filled events in the school chapel.
