Harvest Moon

Dear Merion Parents and Caregivers,

Merion Mercy Academy will host the 75th annual Harvest Moon semi-formal dance for all students on Saturday, October 26 in the gym, lyceum, and dining commons at school.

We would like you to be aware of the following information.

The event will take place from 7:30 until 10:30 p.m.  No one will be admitted to the dance after 8:30 p.m. For the safety and accountability of all, neither your daughter nor any invited guest will be permitted to leave school during the dance for any reason.  Once admitted, all students must remain in the building until 10:30 p.m.

The Harvest Moon is a semi-formal tradition.  Your daughter and any guest are expected to dress accordingly and in good taste for such an occasion.  All students (young women and men alike) are required to be properly attired upon admittance, in photos, and for the duration of the event.  Shoes are required to be worn at all times.

Merion Mercy Academy does not sponsor any activities or social affairs before or after the Harvest Moon.  In line with this policy, any behavior not conducive to the well-being of your daughter and the reputation of your family before, during, or after the dance may jeopardize her eligibility to attend other school functions.  The use of any drugs or alcohol is absolutely forbidden. Additionally, smoking and vaping are prohibited. Any indication that your daughter or her guest has used these substances may result in disciplinary action. In such circumstances, you will be called upon to pick up your daughter and her guest from the venue; ticket expenses will not be refunded.

A light buffet of refreshments will be provided, featuring beverages and a delicious series of snacks and desserts.

Please download and complete the necessary permission form.  Your daughter must return this signed form when she purchases a Harvest Moon ticket at school.  No tickets will be sold without an accompanying permission form.

Tickets will be on sale in the Office of Student Affairs between Monday, October 14, and Friday, October 25.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  The price of admission is $20 for a Merion student and (an additional) $15 for an invited guest from another school.  Checks should be made payable to Merion Mercy Academy.

Your daughter is responsible for both herself and her date; they must comply with the aforementioned regulations.

We are dependent upon and grateful for your cooperation.  As committee planners and chaperones, the faculty and staff look forward to doing all they can to create an enjoyable, memorable evening for the students.

Thank you very much.
