Learn to Row Program
The LTR meeting will be held at the Malta Boathouse, 9 Boathouse Row, Kelly Drive on the first Saturday, after Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for parents and interested rowers. Rowers should wear workout clothes and sneakers. The cost for the LTR program is $500 and a check for the fee will be collected at the meeting. The cost of the LTR program will be applied to the Spring 2020 rowing fee (previous spring fee was $1,350 for 2019) if the student participates then.
Please be sure to have your required paperwork submitted to MMA’s Family ID prior to the meeting (see above). Also, please see below for important information related to the required swim test.
Practice schedule for LTR: Tuesday & Thursday 4:15-6:15 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 10-12 p.m. at the boathouse. Transportation is provided to the river on school days (the school bus will pick up girls at school at 3:50 p.m.), but parents must pick up their child at the boathouse after practice. Rowers are responsible for getting themselves to/from practice on the weekends. The program goes until the end of October or early November.
If you have any questions please email the parent coordinator, Rachel Kaiser, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Points of Pride
Kings Head Regatta
MMA Rowing took two golds, JV4+ and JV8+, and Varsity 8+ won silver at the 2018 Kings Head Regatta! The team honored the memory of alumna Jackie Fioravanti '12, (who passed in 2013) during the event. Earlier that same morning, many of the team ran/walked in the CHOP 5K to also honor Wylie, the child of an MMA friend who also had passed away from cancer.
