As we honor the core value “Collaboration with Others,” we at MMA encourage good sportsmanship and respectful competition.
Following our holistic approach to education, one that nurtures mind, body, and spirit, athletics offers a vital growth area for students to learn the balance of academics with physical sports activities.
The importance of teamwork, loyalty, respect, and leadership are lifelong values that our coaches and staff impart to Merion Mercy athletes.
Merion Mercy’s athletic program provides sports for all three school seasons. We play in the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies (AACA) and belong to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, which not all schools do. Membership in PIAA means that our teams can go beyond the local level to district and state competitions, which they often do!
Fall Sports: Crew, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball
Winter Sports: Basketball, Swimming
Spring Sports: Crew, Lacrosse, Softball, Track
MMA offers a wide variety of sports on a competitive level. Most teams include both varsity and junior varsity competition, and basketball, field hockey, and crew have freshman teams.
Congratulations to the 22 MMA student athletes (above) who will play sports on the collegiate level–15 of the 22 signed National Letters of Intent in signing ceremonies earlier in the school year. We are confident that these young ladies will continue to benefit from their athletic pursuits and that they will grow as scholars and leaders. Click here for the list of names and school they will attend.
