Molly Sutter '16 has been volunteering this past year at Bethlehem Farm, a Catholic Community in Appalachia. (Fun facts: Merion's Mercy Volunteer Program (MVP) has sent groups to volunteer there for many years, and Molly was able to volunteer there as an MMA junior.)
The Farm invites individuals to join in living the Gospel cornerstones of service, community, simplicity, and prayer through a low-income home repair program and the teaching of sustainable practices. The pandemic has temporarily limited the scope of the Farm's service-retreat program, but Molly has been spending most of her time working in the garden and cooking for the community. She also assists on home repair sites, teaches about Catholic Social Tradition, and develops prayers to enrich the retreat experience. Molly is finding deep joy and purpose in the work she contributes at the Farm!
