Alumnae Spotlight: Katie Clementi '16 and Brianna Vassallo '16
We are happy to spotlight two of our alumna who are the first participants in Merion Mercy's Teaching and Learning Scholar Program. The program seeks to engage preservice teachers who are enrolled in graduate or certification programs, to partner with the faculty at Merion Mercy to advance innovation, student-centered teaching and learning. Through this partnership, experienced educators and aspiring teachers will collaboratively engage in curriculum development, design personalized and blended learning, and facilitate dynamic learning experiences.
Katie Clementi '16 graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology and a minor in French. While at Franklin and Marshall, Katie pursued an internship with a local non-profit dedicated to building a more ethical economy, participated in student government, and spent a semester abroad in England. While participating in this program at Merion, she will also be assisting the Yearbook and Mock Trial clubs.
Brianna Vassallo '16 graduated from St. Joseph's University in 2020 where she majored in English and Secondary Education with a minor in Creative Writing. She came back to Merion to student teach last spring and ended up finishing her student teaching remotely due to the beginning of the pandemic.
