Seventeen students in the Latin Department submitted artistic and entries to the Philadelphia Classical Society 2018 Latin Competition.  Students were invited to submit artistic work in a number of categories (jewelry, pottery, mosaic, sketching, painting and literary works), organized by grade level.  Of those 17 students, 11 received awards for their entries!  Students that have earned recognition are Kylie Campisciano '18, Micheline Denn '21, Annie Gleason '21, Alexandra Henkels '20, Kara Maddox '20, Molly McDermott '18,  Lili McElhill '20, Emma McIntyre '20, Anna O'Brien '21, Annamarie Palermo '20, Jane Pham '18.  One student, Micheline Denn '21, also merited a "Best in Show" award for her handmade jewelry entry. We are extremely proud and excited to share our students' enthusiasm for the classical world and their talents!  These students will be honored at an awards luncheon in May.

Fifty-two students took the National Latin Exam in March.  Of those 52 students, 82% received awards, the majority of which (60%) were gold and silver medals.  We are incredibly proud of each student's participation and we especially recognize and celebrate those who achieved notable success!
