PA Tax Credit Programs

Various tax credit programs are available through BLOCS and directly benefit Merion Mercy Academy. Click here to learn more about how you can designate your personal taxes and click here if you are a business.

Many corporate donors take advantage of a unique opportunity to support Merion Mercy’s scholarship program through Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. Other business donors, who pay Pennsylvania state income tax, may also be eligible for these generous tax credits. One-time donors receive a Pennsylvania tax credit of 75%, and donors who commit to two-consecutive-year gifts qualify for a 90% tax credit. These programs are available to a wide variety of corporate entities.

It is easy for your business to participate.

First, your company needs to submit their application electronically to the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED ) at this link:

Online submissions are new this year. All EITC and OSTC are now streamlined into a single electronic application.
Paper business applications will no longer be accepted.

For a step-by-step guide to the online submission of the Single Application for Assistance, go to Business Application Guide.

Once the state approves your application, the corporation needs to make their gift to MMA within 60 days. Each year, a finite amount of tax credits are made available, and tax credits are awarded to businesses on a first-come, first-served basis.
