The MMA Parent Series provides informative, thought-provoking speakers, book clubs, and events. Parents are required to attend one event over the course of the school year, but are encouraged to attend the entire Parent Series. (Students will not be able to purchase a ticket to Soph Hop or Senior/Junior Prom unless one parent has attended at least one Parent Series event.) The purpose of the Parent Series is to engage parents in meaningful discussion and collaboration.

SpeakUp!: March 14 at 6:30 p.m. (check-in begins at 6 p.m.)
SpeakUp! is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teens develop supportive relationships with the adults in their lives. Through this engaging program, students, parents, and teachers from Merion Mercy Academy, St. Joseph Prep, and Sacred Heart Academy will be enabled to talk openly, honestly and without judgment in small group sessions about difficult topics in an effort to encourage youth to reach out for support within their homes and schools.

SpeakUp! focuses on the fact that no matter what the problem is – stress, drugs, alcohol, depression, anxiety, suicide, relationships, social media or others – the solution always begins with realizing you are not alone and having the courage to speak up and ask for help. All teens benefit from learning how to have courageous conversations with important adults in their lives.  Students representing all three schools have chosen this year's discussion topics of: Drugs, Alcohol, and Vaping; Sex and Sexuality; Mental Health; and Pressure and Expectations.

This is an event for both you and your high school age children. Online registration is now open at
