MMA Weekly • May 24, 2020 The "MMA Weekly" covers important announcements, the school calendar, and other co-curricular updates. Since the calendar is subject to occasional adjustments, please be sure to check the live calendar throughout the week too.
You can expect frequent communications throughout the summer via emails, web postings, and videos, yet this is the final Weekly of the school year. The Weekly will resume in mid-August. Summer Assignments
Classes of 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024: We will email your summer assignments and post them on the website in early June.
We will also hold free pop-up programs for our students with our faculty and staff. These will be offered at no cost. They will cover a variety of topics–from coding to kitchen chemistry and sign language to songwriting. We will share more details on these programs in early June as well. Arts Spring to Life
Additionally, explore the cross-curricular collaboration project, "World Outside My Window." This innovative and timely initiative came out of the Art and English Departments, which worked together to pair drawings of window views with texts. Each drawing offered a writer a chance to journey through the world as seen through the artist's window. Click here to view. Announcements Merion Mentorship Program
Merion Mercy is excited to explore offering a gap year program for the Class of 2020.
With the uncertainty of next year's academic year, students may be interested in a gap year or supplementing any online learning with an internship opportunity. We are currently seeking relationships with all members of the Merion Mercy community (alumnae, current and past parents, neighboring businesses, etc.) to offer a wide variety of positions to interested graduates.
We imagine partnering students with various fields—from the arts to technology—and will be surveying our seniors and their families to determine interest in the coming weeks. Celebrate the Class of 2020 through MMA's Custom Online Appreciation Tool: "kudoboard"
We are asking families to share good wishes for MMA's class of 2020 through our "kudoboard." Please click here to contribute your submission.
This is a surprise for seniors, so please do not share the link with any members of the Class of 2020. While you can add to the page anytime, we are hoping to have the majority of submissions up by May 30, 2020. Retrieval of Belongings and Returns Since Montgomery County remains under a stay-at-home order until, at least, June 4, we will wait until that order is lifted to bring students back (while taking every necessary safety precaution) to retrieve their own belongings, return keys and books, and clean out lockers.
College Counseling Class of 2020
