Affording MMA

Preparing students for their moment.

The Enrollment Management team recognizes that making this investment looks different for each family and we are committed to working hand-in-hand to make a Merion Mercy education a possibility for as many families as possible.

Assistance may be awarded in two ways — scholarships/grants and financial aid. Some students may be eligible for both.

Scholarships

Merion Mercy offers several scholarship opportunities that are renewable for all four years of high school, so long as students maintain the overall GPA requirement of each award and remain in good standing with the school.

Please note that only applications submitted by the deadline of October 30, 2025, will be considered for our scholarships.

Need-based Aid

Providing tuition assistance to eligible families is a vital expression of our mission as a Mercy Catholic school.

Merion Mercy’s financial aid program is designed to support qualified students who might not otherwise be able to attend MMA due to financial constraints. Through this program, we work in partnership with families to help make a Merion Mercy education possible.

Application Process

Merion Mercy uses the Clarity Application to assess financial need. This secure, user-friendly platform considers multiple factors—including household income, expenses, assets, and debt—to provide a full picture of a family’s ability to contribute toward tuition.

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application can be completed on a computer, tablet, or phone, and generally takes under 30 minutes. You can save your progress and return later if needed.

When your application is complete, there is a $65 submission fee. You may share your completed application with any other schools that use Clarity at no extra cost by selecting them from the dropdown menu within the application.

For assistance, once on the Clarity site, Clarity offers in-app help via the “Help” button at the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752. Support is available in English and Spanish, and the application itself is fully translated into Spanish.

Timeline

Families of Incoming Freshmen

The Clarity application must be completed by October 30, 2025. Families will be notified of their award with their daughter’s formal acceptance to MMA. Please note that the application for admission to Merion Mercy is separate from the Clarity application. Both are required for new families requesting financial aid.

Current MMA Families

For families renewing their financial aid or families applying for aid for the first time, the deadline to complete the Clarity application is February 1, 2026.

Before a financial aid renewal is confirmed, previous year tax returns are required as well as W2/1099 income information. Tax returns for the current tax year will be collected when they become available. The Financial Aid Committee meets in mid-February. If a family’s award remains the same as the previous year, it will be directly applied to their re-enrollment contract provided the financial aid process is completed and their tuition account is current. If there is a change from the previous year’s award, the family will be notified.
