Friends Walking

Prepared for College, Poised for Life

Merion girls lead the way, through Mercy. Our transformative, all girls education reaches into and beyond the classroom, cultivating Mercy Girls who are women of purpose, leading lives of integrity rooted in Catholic tradition.

Our academically rigorous, private school education is powered by an unwavering dedication to Mercy values and a community more than 135 years strong. Our curriculum offers countless opportunities for expression and discovery, instilling agency, authenticity, connectivity and creativity to empower girls with the confidence to succeed.

Support from the Start

Our focus on personalized care ensures that we know each student before she begins school. Each girl begins her high school journey with a personal orientation interview, from which we build her a customized class schedule. Prior to her first day, she’s connected with a school counselor, an advisor and a Big Sister (from the junior class).

We pride ourselves on our strong sisterhood here at Merion, and our warm onboarding process ensures that students always have someone to laugh with and lean on, from the very start.

“Our daughters have been empowered physically, emotionally, and academically as they build bonds of friendship that will last a lifetime. Merion is preparing them to be women of consequence—to lead with faith, conviction, empathy, and Mercy.”

—Jen and Dan Healey P ’23, ’26, Havertown, Pa.

Lead With Compassion

“Live Mercy, Seek Justice.” Students hear that in our classrooms, down our hallways, during liturgies, at lunch, on our fields and stage. That’s because at MMA we Live Mercy. Our students acquire a sense of purpose about themselves, their future, and a solid commitment to others, all informed by the Mercy Core Values.

Sisters of Mercy foundress Catherine McAuley recognized the dignity of all people, believed that communities should be full of compassion and hospitality, and proclaimed that no person need be excluded from life-giving opportunities. Mercy means loving kindness in action and it empowers us to Seek Justice: leading change to better our world, standing up for the right thing, and serving those less fortunate.

Embrace Our Differences

Diverse geographically, socioeconomically and culturally, our students come from throughout the Delaware Valley and as far away as China, Brazil and the Ukraine.

Our differences make Merion Mercy reflective of the world, and we value what each girl brings. We believe that in order to succeed, students should expand their world and understand and respect other people's stories, while collaborating with others to shape their own.

“Thank you, Merion Mercy, for helping to cultivate and grow strong-minded women who are able to navigate this ever-changing world.”

—Maureen Travers P ’23, Drexel Hill, Pa.
