Diploma with Distinction

The Merion Mercy Diploma with Distinction supports and recognizes transformative, personalized learning. Students pursue their passion and bridge classroom learning with authentic, purposeful actions within Merion Mercy and as part of our larger—Mercy, Philadelphia, global—community. In the process, they personify the mission of the school: living mercy and seeking justice as young people who create change in our school and the world.   

 

A Diploma with Distinction requires students to complete:

• A program application in the spring of sophomore year

• Monthly mentorship meetings during junior and senior years, beginning with the Classes of 2024 and 2025

• Courses, co-curriculars, and service in the selected concentration area (each concentration area includes flexibility)

• Curation of a digital portfolio (Google Site) with exemplar pieces of work or evidence for each requirement, and a reflection on how that piece of work or experience exemplifies one or more of our Mercy Education Core Values

• A capstone project including participation in the MMA Capstone Symposium
