Mathematics is more than just numbers — it's a portal to navigate and shape the modern world. At Merion Mercy Academy, we help students develop foundational and advanced mathematical skill sets through hands-on instructional methods and challenging coursework based on PA Common Core Standards. Our faculty work with students to learn mathematical concepts with depth and understanding to sharpen their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and maximize their full potential.

Program Spotlight

Embedded SAT Prep

Embedded SAT Prep is an intentional initiative that integrates SAT-style practice directly into students' math curriculum. The approach maximizes instructional time and reinforces key skills by providing real SAT questions aligned with the math concepts students are currently learning in class.

Our math curriculum also incorporates spiral review — bringing back topics from earlier courses and previous years — to keep foundational concepts fresh and build long-term retention.

Mathletes

The Merion Mercy Mathletes program allows students to test their knowledge in interscholastic competitions at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. In addition to being a valuable extracurricular on their college applications, Mathletes provides students a space to hone and learn new mathematical concepts outside of standard classtime or office hours.

Learning Paths

Merion Mercy students are required to take four years of mathematics. We offer multiple progression paths, including several AP and advanced mathematical courses, to match the appropriate level of rigor to each students' academic profile. Students also have the opportunity to accelerate their learning paths through Merion Mercy summer classes to earn course credits and refine their skill sets.
