On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Merion Mercy Academy students competed at DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), hosted by West Chester University and the Supply Chain and Business Intelligence Center. Students had 20 minutes to put together a creative solution to a case study and eight minutes to make their pitch to Fortune 500 companies. Representatives from Clark Associates, EY, Uber, JPMorgan Chase, and Siemens Healthineers hosted introductions to their companies and networking opportunities with their executives.

With 11 participants, Merion Mercy was the best represented school at the competition where they faced off against eight other schools: Bishop Shanahan, Coatesville Senior, Conestoga, Devon, Downingtown East, Downingtown STEM Academy, Notre Dame De Namur, and Unionville High School. While winners weren't named at this round in the competition, Merion Mercy was named "Most Prepared."

Congratulations to Libby Baldini, Sofiia Berestetska, Sophie Gressier, Emma Guertin, Christina Link, Ava Kennedy, Meghan Kohler, Ryan Master, Browwyn Scherf, Maggie Schmidt, and Ava Singleton. Moderators Mr. Ben York and Dr. M.E. Jones expressed their pride in these "Businesswomen of Mercy."
