On January 24, 2025, Merion Mercy Academy’s Women for Life and Love Club participated in the annual March for Life with an in-school field trip. Led by Math teacher Mrs. Deanna Crawford and Theology teacher Dr. Kyle Thompson, the day was filled with both service and reflection, as well as viewing live streamed elements from the March held in Washington, D.C. Highlights included:
- The live streamed closing Pro-Life Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
- Creating blessing bags and writing cards for clients of “A Baby’s Breath” pregnancy center
- A silent walk around the campus with votive candles
- A livestream of the pre-rally concert and the March for Life rally speakers, followed by a group discussion
- Writing a “letter to self” to reflect on this day and why standing for life is important to them, and to think of ways they will continue to support the right to life in the coming years.
The day closed with a prayer and rosary in the school chapel.
