Women for Life and Love Club Attends "Stand Up for Life" Dinner

On November 24, 2024, 18 members of Merion Mercy Academy's Women for Life and Love Club attended the "Stand Up for Life" dinner sponsored by the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia. They were accompanied by Math Teacher Deanna Crawford; Theology Teacher Kyle Thompson; Assistant to Counseling and Summer Programs Sally McGovern; and Manager of Payroll, Benefits, Accounts Payable Barbara Sherlock. The evening featured pro-life speakers, including Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, campaign director for 40 Days for Life in Birmingham, England, and co-director of March for Life UK. Other pro-life clubs from area high schools and colleges were also in attendance. 

Deanna Crawford, club moderator, says of the experience, "The Women for Life & Love Club attends the Stand Up for Life dinner in Philadelphia because it connects the members with 1000+ people, many of whom are their peers, who also share the belief that all life is a gift from conception until natural death. This solidarity gives the students motivation for their continued efforts in building a culture of life.”
