Women for Life and Love Club Attends Pro-Life Union Dinner

On November 23, 16 members of Merion Mercy Academy's Women for Life and Love Club attended the Stand up for Life Dinner in Philadelphia.  The guest speaker was Sr. Dede Bryne, a U.S. Army Colonel, a renowned surgeon and a religious sister. Club moderator and math teacher Deanna Crawford said, "Her message of faith and action was an inspiration to not only the more than one-thousand in attendance, but specifically to our girls in standing up for the marginalized and carrying on the critical concern of dignity and respect." She added, "Sr. Dede spreads her message of love by reminding us to stay in a state of grace so that we may all attain eternal life with God in Heaven." The girls had the privilege of meeting Sr. Dede Bryne as well as Bishop Joseph Coffey, Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese for Military Services USA, and Deacon Jim Coffey.
