Ricordia: Celebrating MMA Athletes on National Signing Day

National Signing Day is always an exciting event, and this year at Marion Mercy, we had seven seniors commit to various colleges for their respective sports. The colleges consisted of: Jefferson University (Madison McGrath - Softball), Pace University (Jennah Figueroa - VolleyBall), Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Mackenzie Convery - Lacrosse), Fairfield University (Alexis Gedgard and Sofia Tufano - Rowing), Old Dominion University (Hayden Muehl - Rowing), and Loyola University (Kate Kallmeyer - Rowing).

The Signing Day excitement takes place in the Dining Commons, which was packed with friends, classmates, teammates, teachers, coaches, and of course, family. Merion showed up and showed out in order to let our seniors know that we are extremely proud of them. This support did not go unnoticed. Madison McGrath shared, “I was kind of nervous on signing day but it was more of an anticipation nervous because I knew how many people would be there. However, that also made me feel really special seeing everyone show up for me and the other girls signing.”

As a community, Merion Mercy wishes all seven of them the best of luck. We cannot wait to see what they are able to accomplish in college.
