Renaissance Revels Performs with “All Good Cheer”

On May 11, 14 students in the Renaissance Revels course provided an appreciative audience with an evening of food and merriment complete with song, instrumental pieces, dance, history, and visual art that the students have experienced this semester. In full costume, the students performed the singing and playing of madrigals, Organum and Gregorian chants, as well as sword and Morris dancing.

Open to students in all grades, Renaissance Revels is an arts elective and is the first of three courses required for the Music Major program. Through acting, dancing, singing, composition, and the playing of handbells and “lute”uleles, Department Chair Dr. Cara Latham says, “This one-semester course celebrates a love and understanding of the performing arts.”
