Ricordia: Prom: A Beloved Tradition

by Delaney Gillespie '27

Out of all the events Merion Mercy Academy presents, prom is definitely the highlight of the year. As a teenage girl myself, I can certainly say that prom involves as much work as it seems. Girls spend months searching for the perfect dress, matching shoes, prettiest nails, and so much more. All of these tiny details must be perfect in order to have a perfect prom. This year, MMA is hosting the junior and senior prom at the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. The Please Touch Museum is home to various attractions, but the most anticipated is the carousel. Throughout the night, students will take turns riding the horse figures, taking pictures, and enjoying themselves. Additionally, food and refreshments are served to the students and chaperones.

For years, prom has been a sacred MMA tradition. Prom is a special time to express yourself with flashy colors and sequined material, with makeup and hair all done, and most importantly with friends. Girls and their dates will take pictures with one another, drive to the museum, and enjoy each other's company by sharing a meal and dancing to music. Prom is the perfect time to spend time with friends, express yourself, and most importantly have fun.
