Honors Art Students Explore Feminine Energy Exhibit

Honors Art Major 2 and 3 students, accompanied by Mrs. Boyd and Mrs. DiGiambattista, recently visited Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church to experience Feminine Energy, an exhibit by Sister Helen Brancato. The collection celebrates the courage, strength, and compassion of women from diverse backgrounds and eras, offering a powerful tribute to their enduring impact.

As part of their visit, students engaged with the artwork by adding their own reflections, deepening their connection to the pieces. The exhibit featured striking portraits honoring figures such as Hildegard of Bingen, Dorothy Day, and Frida Kahlo—women whose talents, leadership, and vision continue to inspire.

Reflecting on the experience, junior Mimi O’Malley shared, “I thought the art was absolutely beautiful, and you could tell the artist really loved women. It was visible in the way she sought to capture their souls and essence in her work.”

Senior Alex Segreti wrote, “I thoroughly enjoyed the Feminine Energy exhibit for the gorgeous variety of art despite everything coming from the same artist. The media, colors, and messages expressed all made for an extremely well-thought and educational exhibit. I especially enjoyed reading about each piece in the helpful program!”

For Merion Mercy Academy students, attending an exhibit that so vividly celebrates the power and presence of women was especially meaningful. As an all-girls’ school, we cherish opportunities to witness and engage with art that honors the strength, creativity, and contributions of women throughout history.
