Merion Mercy Academy congratulates seniors Katherine Leahy, Erin Lewis, Grace O’Connor and Hailey Hendricks who have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Although they will not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
A spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Program said, “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
Head of School Marianne Grace added, "Katherine, Erin, Grace and Hailey are fine examples of the exceptional young women we educate at Merion Mercy Academy."
These four Commended Students join Jada Boose ‘24 and Ryan Master ‘24 who earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. Boose received the National African American Recognition Award and Master earned the National Hispanic Recognition Award.
