Day of Service Honors Dr. King

MLK Day of Service at Merion Mercy Academy in 2026

More than 100 Merion Mercy alumnae, students, families, faculty, staff, and board members participated in MMA’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Following a prayer service and lesson on the life of Dr. King, participants packaged over 200 bags of toiletry items for the Archdiocese Community Program.

For Taylor Stokes, Coordinator of DEIB and Service, the MLK Day of Service is a reminder that honoring Dr. King’s legacy means more than remembering his words, it means living them. “It calls us to advocate for marginalized communities, to speak out against injustice, and to put our faith into action through service. It was powerful to see members from every part of our school community come together, placing others before themselves and living out our shared mission in action.”
