In support of “academic and personal excellence…within a nurturing environment,” the Counseling Department empowers our students to embrace their authentic self with courage and confidence. Enhancing the learning process, our counselors and student support personnel guide the development of all Merion Mercy students with their academic, personal concerns, and higher education goals.
Our counselors, specialists, and academic advisors may work with students one-on-one, as part of a group, with parents and teachers, and as a resource for anyone who has concerns about a student’s well being. It is understood that our counselors are held to professional standards of confidentiality when dealing with personal student affairs as outlined by the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American School Counseling Association (ASCA), and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
The counseling offices are open every school day. Students are welcome to drop in or make an appointment through email.
Coming Soon! – New Counseling Center
As part of the Upward & Onward Campaign, new counseling suites are being re-built (anticipated 2017 completion) in order to provide a more adequate meeting and workshop area. The new space will allow MMA counselors, specialists, and tutors the opportunity to work with other students one-on-one, as part of a group, and/or with parents, teachers, and other professionals, giving students the freedom to share and to grow without distraction.
