  • Merion Mercy Academy is located at 511 Montgomery Avenue in Lower Merion township, Pennsylvania. The school is approximately 1.5 miles from City Avenue, Philadelphia.
  • MMA enrolls 485 girls in grades 9-12.
  • Merion Mercy Academy originally opened as Mater Misericordiae Academy in 1884 in a portion of the motherhouse on the school's current grounds.
  • The lower school merged with Waldron Academy for Boys in 1986, thus giving the entire MMA building to the education of high school girls.
  • Sister Barbara Buckley became the school's principal in 2007.
  • MMA joined the PIAA scholastic athletic competition in 1994. The basketball team won the state PIAA Class AA championship in 1995. The Track and Field team won the PIAA state championship in 1998 and in 2001. The volleyball team won the PIAA state championship in 2001 and 2007.
  • The school earned recognition from the United States Department of Education by receiving a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award in 1996.
  • The school opened in 1884. The first graduating class was in 1895.
