Features

The present MMA facility was built in 1954 with 72,000 square feet of space dedicated as a school for girls in grades k-12. In 1986, the lower school merged with the boys at Waldron, thus allowing the entire facility for the education of high school girls. In 2000, the school began to look at expanding; a feasibility study was undertaken and in June 2002, ground was broken for the school's most significant building project since the 1950s.

The new 27,000 square foot entrance presents many new features for MMA, including:

  • New chapel
  • New administrative suites for the main office, advancement, academics, admissions, guidance, activities and attendance
  • New student center for study
  • New track, weight and aerobics rooms
  • New classrooms
  • New meeting rooms

All of this augments an already outstanding facility. In the summer of 2004, the library/media center and music center were renovated. Additionally, all hallways were upgraded for a contemporary look.

From Delaware County: Use US 1 North, Township Line Avenue which will become City Avenue. After passing St. Charles Seminary at Lancaster Avenue, cross the bridge for Overbrook train station. Merion Road is at the foot of the bridge--turn left. Follow Merion Road for approximately 1.5 miles. Merion Road leads into the school's grounds. MMA is located at the top of the hill on the right.

From Philadelphia: Use the Schuylkill Expressway and exit onto City Avenue, US 1 South. Pass St. Joseph's University at 54th Street and watch for Merion Road on your right, which is the 6100 block of City Avenue. Turn right onto Merion Road. Follow Merion Road for approximately 1.5 miles. Merion Road leads into the school's grounds. MMA is located at the top of the hill on the right.

From Villanova: Follow Montgomery Avenue east. Watch for an Acme on your left in Narberth. MMA's property is about 4 blocks past the Acme on your left.
