Accreditation for Growth

The school received notice of accreditation in November of 2005. The accreditation will be valid for seven years.

Information about the Accreditation for Growth Process

In May 2003 the Merion Mercy Board of Trustees approved Accreditation for Growth (AFG) as the protocol under which Merion Mercy Academy would be accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges.

Choosing the AFG protocol meant that the school committed itself to continuous improvement.

This process involved all of its stakeholders - students, faculty, administration, parents and alumnae.

A planning team, made up of representatives from all the stakeholder groups, directed the process of setting performance goals and establishing measurements for them. The entire school community worked together during the 2003-2004 school year to develop the three objectives. These objectives will be an important component of strategic planning for school improvement during the next seven years. The objectives were validated by the Middle States Association.

We will continue to add information to this site as the process continues.
