This year, Merion Mercy Academy is celebrating 125 years of educating women who lead.  The kick off birthday bash was held September 27, 2009.  Close to 500 supporters attended a mass in the motherhouse chapel and enjoyed a carnival-theme picnic at the school. In addition to the birthday party, many school activities will revolve around the 125th celebration.  In the months to come, the school's art department is hosting a drawing event that will feature alumnae speakers and encourage those who are not artists to experiment in the field.  At this event, the school will celebrate 125 years of promoting art, especially by educating and support female artists. Other events include alumnae gatherings, special sporting events, and the annual Sip 'Bid dinner and auction that will take guests on a journey through the past. MMA families will enjoy seeing banners announcing MMA's birthday in main line towns-- the one in Narberth is up now. Happy Birthday, indeed!
